PSOAS’s annual tenant satisfaction survey was once again conducted in April 2026. This year, nearly 800 tenants responded, representing approximately 22% of all PSOAS tenants. A warm thank you to everyone who participated! The survey provides PSOAS with valuable insight into everyday student living and helps us continue developing our services.
Based on the 2026 results, PSOAS services are experienced as reliable overall. Tenants particularly appreciate friendly and accessible customer service, responsive property management and quick handling of maintenance requests, as well as good apartment locations and keeping promises in everyday matters.
Positive image and strong recommendation levels
The survey results show a clearly positive overall image of PSOAS. The overall rating was 8.8 on a scale of 4–10, and the Net Promoter Score (NPS) reached 55, indicating a high level of willingness to recommend PSOAS.
PSOAS is a preferred housing option among students in Oulu. As many as 91.1% of respondents stated that PSOAS was their primary housing choice in Oulu. In addition, 89.2% would apply again to PSOAS if their housing needs changed.
Strengths in 2026
- Customer service is seen as friendly and helpful, and interactions are generally smooth. In particular, communication via email works well from the tenants’ perspective.
- In property management, tenants value quick responses to maintenance issues as well as reliable and service-oriented operations. Overall, property management is experienced as smooth and supportive of everyday living.
- Regarding maintenance and cleaning, summer yard work and the helpfulness of staff were highlighted. Basic everyday services are perceived as working well.
- Tenants clearly value the good location of apartments and the wide range of housing options offered by PSOAS for different life situations.
- In residential environments, satisfaction was particularly high regarding public transport connections and the availability of nearby services.
- Among services during the tenancy, tenants appreciate the ease of using the internet provided by PSOAS. The PSOAS Car shared vehicle service also receives very positive feedback from users.
Areas for development and looking ahead
The survey also highlighted areas for development, which PSOAS has already taken into consideration and continues to improve as part of ongoing operations and future plans.
- Feedback was given on the functionality of the PSOAS website and the OmaPSOAS service. Digital services are an important part of smooth everyday transactions, and their continuous development ensures they will serve tenants even better in the future.
- Customer service feedback has been reviewed, and improvements have been made. Our goal is to ensure that tenants can easily and smoothly contact us through different channels. The availability of phone services has improved during the early part of the year, and development work will continue.
- Requests related to bicycle storage were mentioned in several responses. Cycling is an important part of everyday life for many students, and functional storage solutions are being reviewed as part of property development.
- In terms of apartments, development needs were particularly identified in kitchens and bathrooms. PSOAS continuously carries out renovations and improvements as needed. For example, renovations are currently ongoing in Välkkylä, and individual apartments in other properties are renovated as required.
- Recycling and waste management were also highlighted in open feedback. During the recycling campaign carried out in the spring, instances where waste bins could not be emptied due to missorted waste decreased significantly, showing that communication and everyday choices make a difference. However, successful recycling is a shared effort. While PSOAS develops solutions and guidance, success also depends on tenants’ care and proper sorting in daily life.
Overall performance at a high level
The 2026 results are well in line with previous years and strengthen the overall picture of PSOAS as a reliable and well-regarded student housing provider. Consistently strong scores indicate that everyday student living runs smoothly year after year.
Overall, PSOAS performs well across all survey areas. General ratings ranged between 8.7 and 8.8, reflecting a stable and high-quality student housing experience.
