The construction of the Välkkylä tower house – UNO has finally started in August 2022. With Uno, the number of student apartments in Välkkylä will increase considerably. Estimated completion is spring 2024.
Preliminary schedules for autumn:
- August: establishment of the site and starting the construction.
- September: piling for 3 weeks. This is the loudest phase of the construction site.
Schedules may still change if the start cannot be made as planned. More detailed schedules and work phases will be announced as the project progresses and as needed.
Other important info:
- Work is only done on weekdays, not at night.
- Heavy equipment will be moving in the area during construction. The construction site is closed with fences and access is strictly prohibited. The kindergarten’s fence is being raised to improve safety.
A sign will be built next to the construction site with contact information for possible contacts/questions.
