PSOAS residents actively voted on the design of the new common space being built as part of Ullankartano’s renovation. A total of 403 votes were cast in a close contest between three different styles. The winner? Forest, which received 44 % of the votes.
This choice now directly guides the design: the color scheme of Ullankartano’s downstairs common area will be based on the winning option. This ensures the renewed building truly feels like its residents’ own and serves everyday life in the best possible way.

The renovation of Ullankartano is progressing as planned. Work began in autumn 2025, and the work is to be completed in autumn 2026, when residents can move into fully updated spaces, featuring a common room look chosen by the community.
