PSOAS turned 50 during the corona year 2021. To celebrate this milestone, a decision was made to acquire a light installation to brighten up Yliopistokatu. Due to the pandemic, the festivities were moved to autumn 2022, when the anniversary was celebrated and the light installation called Inner Glow was unveiled in connection with the Lumo light festival.
Co-created by Arttu Nieminen, Johan Pietarinen and Jan-Erik Leutola, the Inner Glow, will enlighten and color the concrete gables of the Campus buildings for years to come.
“The shape of the artwork invites you to identify your internal moods through an abstract combination of lights. Empathy, joy and internal light are the elements of the installation. Each one of the three installation parts is a unique combination of constantly changing reflections through prisms onto the concrete”, Arttu Nieminen describes. The installation can be found at Yliopistokatu 4, 20 and 32.
