Resident's Guide

PSOAS is responsible for making sure that the property is kept tidy. Tenants must take care of their own apartments and rooms as well as the common areas in shared apartments. In addition, tenants must make sure that they themselves, their family members or guests do not damage the location's joint property. Tenants must fix any intentional damage or damage caused by negligence.

Who is responsible for repairs?

Property maintenance has a key position in the matter of maintaining and servicing the property. The regional property supervisor takes care of any practical issues related to living and repairing apartments in co-operation with PSOAS.

Property maintenance takes care of the yards, makes minor repairs to the properties and is responsible for the operation of the water, sewage, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems. Janitors fix damaged water and sewage equipment, replace water and heating pipe seals and open clogged sewers and doors for people who have left their keys at home.

After business hours and on the weekends, the janitors on duty will handle the most urgent maintenance and repair tasks as well as open doors for tenants. Their phone number can be found on the property bulletin board, on the property maintenance sticker on the outer door or on these pages.

For more information, see the responsibility table of maintenance and repair. Keep also in mind that if you order the janitor to take care of a maintenance task that belongs to the tenants responsibility the costs will be invoiced from you.
