Are there cable tv or antennas in the apartments of PSOAS?

There are cable tv. When you are buying digibox make sure you have right to return it if you can not see digital broadcasting.

What should I do if the fire alarm is beeping?

A new battery must be changed to the fire alarm. The fire alarm helps you if fire ocuurs only if you have taken care of it´s condition. The tenant himself / herself must make sure that there is a fire alarm in the apartment and that the fire alarm is in order.

What should I do if I lose my keys?

If a tenant loses the key of the apartment, the lock has to be replaced. The tenant pays the expenses of replacing the lock. The expenses for shared flat rooms and for family or single room apartments are 150 euros. The tenant will get an invoice soon after the order has been made.

Can I have a subtenant in PSOAS' apartment?

PSOAS' tenant can sublease the apartment and choose his own subtenant. The subtenant must also be a student. The sublease agreement should be made for a fixed period which is no longer than one year. A written agreement should be made by the tenant and the subtenant together and a copy of this agreement should be given to PSOAS accommodation office. Names, identity numbers, contact information, address of the subleased apartment and the fixed period of the lease should be mentioned in the agreement. The PSOAS' tenant has the main responsibility for the keys, the rents and the condition of the apartment during the time that the apartment is subleased.

How to cancel my rental agreement?

The notice has to be made in writing. You cannot cancel your rental agreement by e-mail or phone. You can load and print a PDF cancellation form or pick up a form in the Housing Office. You can also write a free-form notice stating who is cancelling the agreement, what is the apartment in question, when will the apartment be free, new contact information (address, telephone, e-mail), and a bank account number for refunding the deposit.

If the rental agreement to be cancelled concerns a family apartment, both parties must sign the notice. The notice can be delivered to PSOAS via mail or fax. The period of notice is one calendar month, which means that the agreement terminates on the last day of the following month. For example, if you want to move out on 30 June, the notice must be delivered to PSOAS on 31 May, at the latest.
